Who are we?

Forward by Chair of Trustees, Rachel Medill.

“In August 2008 I was inspired by the work done by the Ebony Horse Club in Brixton which gives disadvantaged children the opportunity to ride horses. In its twelve years of existence the organiser has experienced not one instance of disruptive behaviour around the horses and the benefits the children gain from their experiences have had positive effects on other aspects of their daily lives. As a result of visiting Brixton I decided to investigate whether there would be benefit in running the same kind of operation in Milton Keynes.

It quickly became apparent that with Milton Keynes’ growing population and its pockets of deprivation there was a significant number of children who could benefit from such a charity. On talking to organisations around Milton Keynes that work with young people it was clear that there was strong demand and as a result I started setting up the charity, Ride High, in September 2008.

Ride High was constituted as a voluntary organisation in November 2008.   It is a registered charity  – Charities Commission number 1138260.

Ride High is the trading name of Ride High Limited, a company limited by guarantee. Registered in England and Wales, no 7363597. Registered address: The Dove House, The Avenue, Aspley Guise, Bedfordshire, MK17 8HH.
